Black Stars and Al Fayha winger Samuel Owusu has urged the Ghanaian citizenry to stay at home and stay safe to avoid contracting the Coronavirus disease.
Since the outbreak of the disease in Chinese city of Wuhan, the disease has spread to over 120 countries across the globe, killing thousands of people.
Due to the increase rate of the death cases, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the disease as pandemic.

The African continent has not been spared as 40 countries have recorded cases of the pandemic with Ghana included.
As of Wednesday April 1, 2020, Ghana has recorded 195 cases with 5 deaths with the Ghana Health Service urging Ghanaians to be very cautious since more cases of the disease are likely to be recorded in the country.

As part of the measures to control the disease in Ghana, the government has partially lockdown some parts of Accra, Kumasi,Tema and Obuasi as these four cities have recorded most cases.

However, Samuel Owusu who has been indoors at his base in Saudi Arabia since the outbreak of the disease, has advised Ghanaians to stay at home especially those four Cities to prevent the spread of the disease.
“The disease is very serious, I will urge Ghanaians to stay at home and stay safe. We can all go to our normal businesses when the disease is over”, Owusu told Angel TV.
When asked how he is coping since there’s no football activities in Saudi Arabia, Samuel Owusu explained that he has been training indoors to keep his shape and prepare for the resumption of the league season.
“Personally, I have been training indoors just to keep fit and also prepare for the return of the league here [Saudi Arabia]. As a professional player I don’t need to sit in the house without training. It has been difficult training indoors without playing football but I know definitely we will return to the pitch again.
“Currently my brother is here with me and we play cards together, so I don’t feel boredom”, he added.

Owusu was also asked what he has missed in Ghana since moving to Saudi Arabia, with laughter Owusu said “I have missed the Sunday Special at Madina Park in Accra.”
He also seized the opportunity to expressed his gratitude to those who have been supporting him in his football career and urged them all to stay safe.

Since the outbreak of the disease in Ghana, Samuel Owusu is among the few Black Stars players to support the fight against the disease by donating over 3000 sanitizers to the Ghana Football Association to distribute to the various teams.
Samuel Owusu is now heralded as one of the best players for Al Fahya since joining them last summer. He has scored five goals for the Saudi top division side in twenty matches
