Former Ghana Blackstars charismatic skipper Stephen Appiah has donated to the flood victims caused by the Akosombo Dam overflow in the Volta region of Ghana. The items he donated include mattresses, blankets, and a variety of foods.
The donation was made on Wednesday in partnership with Wembley Construction and sports enthusiast Nathaniel Attoh, with the donation received by the North Tong MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
In a statement released by the MP on social media, the MP poured his heart out to show his appreciation to the former Ghana captain.
Mr. Ablakwa said, “Legendary Stephen “Tornado” Appiah was not only blessed with exceptionally talented feet; more importantly, he is an amazing human being with a huge heart. “Thank you, El Capitano, Wembley Construction, and Nathaniel Attoh. “Northern Tongu will never forget your kindness.”
The dam spillage has so far displaced thousands of people in the Volta Region, with millions of properties lost in the deluge caused by the release of water from the Akosombo and Kpong dams to ease rising water levels.
