The Ashanti regional branch of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana ( SWAG) has been inaugurated.
The inauguration exercise held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium Conference room on Tuesday February 12, 2019 witnessed prominent personalities within the association as well as sports enthusiasts in attendance.
Speaking to the gathering, President of SWAG, Kwabena Yeboah – an astute Sports journalist, highlighted on the benefit of being a member of the association and pinpointed the need to inaugurate the Ashanti regional branch
According to him, SWAG is made up of professionals with a common identify, agenda and vision and hinted on the educational opportunities the association offers to its card-beared young journalists.
A Seven- Member Interim Committee made up of Barima Otuo Acheampong as the Chairman, Frederick Acheampong ( Achie), Frank Owusu Ansah, Kwabena Osei Tutu, Kwaku Ahenkorah, Silvester Anane and Franklin Gyimah were inaugurated to steer the affairs of the association for the next twelve months before the regional elections.
The Ashanti regional becomes the second to be inaugurated after the Volta region, Kyfilla.com understands.
Present at the colorful ceremony was the President of SWAG, Kwabena Yeboah, Ghana Arm-wrestling President Charles Osei Assibey and other invited guests.
