Senior High School Students have been advised to remain focused with a prime aim of making their parents proud by successfully making good grades to secured their future .
As teenagers, they are to refrain from sex resulting in an unwanted pregnancy and respect authority.
This was contained in a statement of the CEO of the Aroma Universal Foundation ,a non governmental organisation ,Miss Monica Dede Odonkor when she yesterday addressed students of Takoradi Senior High School (Tadisco).
Miss Dede Odonkor together with her team,were in the school on a campaign to sensitise students on dangers associated with teenage pregnancy and abortion.
According to her, 16 million adolescent girls world wide aged 15-19 years gives birth each year,which contributes about 11 percent of all births worldwide.
She said its also the responsibility of parents that at any point in time, they know the where about of their Wards. Also in a wake of reported kidnaps in the metropolis ,Miss Odokor who is also an activist and a social worker urged the students to be careful when dealing with people they hardly know.
Miss Mavis Twumwaa Appiah, a Midwife at the Kwasimintim Hospital and a resource person for the program, was happy particularly on the conduct of the students. She told newsmen that it was evident when student freely walked to her for further clarity on her presentation and was with the believe that they will take it serious.
About 400 first year students of the school participate in the program.
