Takoradi Technical University’s newly introduced Annual Sports Awards which is put together by Sports Committee Unit has been successfully launched on Wednesday July 26, 2023, on the theme “ Recognising Excellence in Sports at the Takoradi Technical University and Beyond”.
The University aims to confer meritorious honors on these individuals, sports personalities and organizations to encourage them to continually support the development of sports in the Western Region.

The annual awards is slated for August 5, 2023 at the School’s main Auditorium at New Site, Takoradi.
Speaking to the media after the launch, the Pro Vice chancellor of Takoradi Technical University
Professor Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah applauded the sports committee of the school for this great initiative by awarding the various deserving sporting individuals.
According to him this will boost the confidence level of students who are into sports .
Professor Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah, stated that he has been with school more than thirteen years and this first time the school is doing something like this and he believes this will boost the confidence level of the students to do more going forward
Explaing the process of voting, the organizers of this award said, the school will launched a special platform which the students will use to vote for their favorite nominees, they added that, the students votes form 60% and the pannels also form 40% before one can be selected as a winner, the winners will receive Certificates , plaques and Citations.

Mustapha Almed Salim a norminee for best basketball category, said he is optimistic to win this category considering his performance for the past years in the school .
Ghana Premier League Champions Medeama sc and Women’s Premier League side Hasaacas Ladies will be honored at the awards ..
TTU Annual Sports Awards: Kuntu Blankson to Receive Honorary Award for Exemplary Career
Online news portal KYFILLA.COM and Veteran Sports broadcaster George Kuntu Blankson of Westgold Radio will also receive an honorary award at the event.
