Reigning betPawa Premier League champions, Medeama Sporting Club was a recipient of an honorary award at the maiden edition of the Takoradi Technical University Sports Awards held on August 5, 2023 at the School’s Auditorium.
Takoradi Technical University held its first annual Sports Awards where several individuals, teams, organisations and staff members were honoured and rewarded for their contributions to sports in the western region within and outside the school.
TTU in recent times have had great runs and successes in sports events especially the Ghana Technical University games in Tamale and this is as a result of the school’s commitment to athletic excellence and talent development.
With the exception of honorary and corporate awards,the award winners from the various awards categories were selected by virtue of votes cast by students and the sports committee in the ratio of 60 and 40 respectively as
mentioned by Oti Asirifi Mensah.
Reigning Ghana Premier League Champions Medeama Sporting Club was honoured for re-writing the name of Western Region in the books of Ghana Football as the club enters the next football season as sole representatives of Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
Communications director of Medeama Sporting Club Patrick Akoto received a citation on behalf of the club and expressed gratitude to the heads of the university for the recognition.He also added that Medeama Sporting Club will offer a training trial for the best male footballer of the year from the TTU Sports Awards.
Takoradi Technical University hopes to build rapports through this event and deepen already established relationships with corporate bodies and influential individuals.
