Theophilus Kpakpo, also known as Theo Lopez, a Ghanaian boxer competing in the Olympics, has not made it to the Olympic 2024 Qualification Zone in Italy.
After losing to his Korean opponent Inkyu Kim in a split decision of 2-3, Ghana’s lone ranger at the 2024 Olympic Games fell short of his dream.
As a result, at the current WQT Boxing Road to Quarterfinals held in Busto Arsizio, Italy, he was eliminated from the competition.
A statement from the Ghana Boxing Federation President, Mr. Ben Quartey, says Ghanaian boxers have been performing abysmally poorly recently, especially during the current qualifiers.
According to the Ghana Olympic Committee, the tournament was very tough as the Asian countries presented very tough boxers.
Thailand would host the boxing final of the Olympic qualifying tournament.
