Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars defender, Emmanuel Ampiah has revealed the current generation of players don’t like to train hard like they were doing in the past.
According to Ampiah, this generation of players are not training as hard that they used to do.
The 1992 African Cup of Nations finalist was speaking about the growing decline of the quality of football in Ghana.

Ampiah, 52, began his football career with Asante Kotoko, King Faisal and Berekum Chelsea and retired after 2003 at 35 years old.
Adding up on the subject, the left back says he was waking up as early as 4:00 in the morning to train on his own before the team training later on.

“I liked overlapping, I had the strength, I woke up at 4:00A.M. to train on my own before the team will start training at the stadium, I was able to play 90 minutes and beyond. I have heard the current players complain for training 2 hours and I’m surprised. And that’s a reason for the decline of Ghana football because now players like to play football but don’t like training. I don’t like alcohol and never interested in women during our active training days” – Emmanuel Ampiah, ex Black Stars player told Nhyira FM.
