The bankroller of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede, has voiced his displeasure about the demonstration by a section of the fans.
Togbe Afede expressed sadness over what led some fans to take action following the board’s dedication and sacrifices. He went on to say that he believes those embarking on demonstrations don’t want to see the club progress.
He said that he does not understand why the demonstration is necessary since the supporters already know that a new coach and managing director have been brought in to turn things around.
They are all aware we brought a new coach, they are all aware we brought a new MD so what are they demonstrating for?
“We talked about putting in place a new board and announcing that new board in the next AGM which we had planned for this month delays in the audit of the accounts have meant that we had to postpone the AGM to next month, so if you are going to have a new board next month what else are you agitating for?”
I will plead with them to be real supporters.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to know what exactly they really want and so it leaves you to believe that they just don’t want the progress of this club unfortunately I’m sorry to say that. No matter what you do, they don’t seem to appreciate it”
Not people who wants to divert attention and focus. I will like to tell them we love the club just like they do if not more, that is why we spend time and resources on the Club.
The chairman of the board, Togbe Afede XIV of Hearts, added, “Not everyone will appreciate what they are doing for the club.”
“I am pleased to report that most of our fans recognize and value the work we are doing for this team.” ” I think that alone is enough to push us to do more and we hope the rest will understand what we’re trying to do for this club” He added
By the end of the following month, the new, contemporary office should be finished.
