Ghana have secured a qualification to the next qualifying round of the African U-23 championship as well as the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after a goalless stalemate against Gabon in Libreville today.
The Ghana U-23 side managed to book next round qualification after holding their age-mates from Gabon to a 0:0 score-line at the Stade Monedan in Libreville.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side hammered Gabon to a four unanswered goals at the Accra Sports Stadium last week Saturday and have qualified to the next qualifying on a 4:0 aggregates.
Ghana, after eliminating Gabon and making it to the next round will either face Equitorial Guinea or Algeria.
The last time the Black Meteors qualified for the Olympic games was 2004 in Athens and so therefore are very determined to secure a slot in the 2020 edition at Tokyo.
