The Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, paid a working visit to B5 Plus Company Ltd. on Friday, March 21, 2025, with stops at the company’s facilities in Tema and Lakpleku in the Greater Accra Region.
The visit formed part of the Minister’s broader engagement with key industry players to explore avenues for government support and collaboration. It aimed to deepen understanding of B5 Plus’s operations and to discuss strategic initiatives to enhance iron and steel production in Ghana.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare commended the management and investors behind B5 Plus for their vision and contribution to Ghana’s industrialization agenda. She highlighted the company’s efforts as a shining example of the potential within Ghana’s steel manufacturing sector and underscored its role in bolstering the country’s economic prospects.
The Chief Executive Officer of B5 Plus, Mr. Mukesh V. Thakwani, expressed his company’s commitment to Ghana’s development, stating that their investment decisions are driven by a strong desire to contribute to national growth. He noted that B5 Plus is currently the largest manufacturer and exporter of iron and steel products in West Africa.
Mr. Thakwani revealed the company’s ambition to further expand its footprint across the country, citing the potential to create more jobs for Ghanaians. However, he pointed out that unresolved land issues pose a significant barrier to these expansion plans.
