Accompanied by both national and regional officers of the Petroleum Commission, Madam Hardcastle used the visit to tour various facilities and machinery at the Jubilee Technical Training Centre, JTTC. She was also briefed on the University’s collaborations with various petroleum industry partners that have helped to provide the necessary machinery and tools to support the centre’s operations and enhance its training programmes.
Pro Vice Chancellor of TTU, Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah, who led the TTU management to welcome the PC Acting CEO assured her of the University’s commitment to effective teamwork and support. He emphasized the University’s readiness to collaborate with other institutions to provide the other necessary machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient and effective operations.
The Petroleum Commission Acting CEO while commending TTU for its excellent maintenance of the facilities, machinery, and tools used in training students, shared some of the key goals she hopes to achieve as the Acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission.
“Some of the key priorities are to promote more activities within the industry, attract more international oil companies and major players to engage in the sector, and ensure that more exploratory and appraisal work is carried out. Another critical goal is to enhance the technical and financial capacity of our indigenous Ghanaian companies, enabling them to better support the industry. By doing this, we aim to shift more business from international companies to Ghanaian-owned companies, fostering growth. Part of this includes providing hands-on training for people to operate our FPSOs, among other essential technologies. We will also work on improving our regulatory framework to make the industry more attractive to investors and to promote the development of the Votain Basin, among other developments,” she stated.
Other TTU officials who were at the welcome of the Acting PC CEO included the Registrar of TTU, Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory, Finance Director, Dr. Gabriel San Ahinful and the Director of the JTTC, Prof. John Bentil.
