The Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) has arrested two persons allegedly engaged in trafficking narcotics at the Aviance Cargo Village in Accra.
One of the suspects, Albert Addoquaye Acquaye, was arrested after operatives of NACOB intercepted a KIA truck he was driving.
Items that were confiscated after the arrest include, 45 boxes of what is suspected to be Cannabis and two lunch boxes containing Hashish Oil.
Albert upon arrest named one Ago Lartey as the owner of the consignment who was also subsequently arrested.

“This operation resulted in the arrest of 22 suspects, the seizure of substantial quantities of drugs, namely: 15.7 kg cocaine, 9.21 kg heroin, 8.17 kg methamphetamines, 596.338 kg cannabis, 4 kg of khat, 267 tramadol pills (225 mg) and USD 22,000 cash,” the statement added.
The Kumasi Central Police Command, on Thursday, January 11, also intercepted a bus heading to Niger from Kumasi loaded with substances suspected to be Indian Hemp.
The bus was loaded with goods from the Boko Station in Kumasi and was intercepted at Buoho in the Afigya-Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.
