Black Princesses Head Coach Yusif Basigi has warned his squad not to become complacent after their incredible victory over Eswatini yesterday.
In a third-round FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier away from home, the Princesses overcame a 1-0 deficit to triumph 6-1 over Eswatini. In his post match remarks with the media emphasized the need for his squad to be focused considering the fact that they are not familiar with their opponents.
“The least we can do is to treat them with respect and prepare as well as we did for the first leg. We have one leg in the next round and to get there, we have to finish the task by defending our advantage. We cannot leave anything to chance.”Coach Basigi stated.
”Our opponents also came with a tactical plan. They tried to attack us aerially and it paid off when they scored through a similar scenario after five minutes. This was our first time seeing them play but we adjusted appropriately after the early setback. We responded well even though the rain affected us because it limit us in terms of the options we could execute under such conditions.” he added citing the unfamiliar conditions in which the team played.
