Discussions are ongoing on eliminating extra time from the knockout rounds of the Champions League within the European Football Association in what could be a new move to reduce the number of minutes played by the major clubs.
Eliminating 30 extra minutes in the knockout stages of the Champions League would go a small way towards alleviating the problems caused by late-season fixture congestion.
If all goes well, football fanatics and supporters will see the extra time of the Champions League scrapped.
