A rising artist named SK DA SUPERMAN has threatened to sue Ghanaian rapper Amerado for allegedly stealing his song for his hit song “Kweku Ananse.”
According to the musician, Kwaku Ananse was taken from his song Shege, which had already received positive reviews from music fans.
He claims that many people on X, the former Twitter platform, inquired about whether Kweku Ananse was a remix due to the song’s buzz.
He believed that if Amerado had been in a nation where the legal system operated effectively and efficiently, it would have resulted in jail time or a fine.
He stated that well-known producer Possigee had confirmed sampling when he made these assertions on Friday during an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning. He said,
“When I called Kwame Yogot, he said the same thing; our attempts to contact him resulted in back and forth.
My career and performance have been impacted, so I am going to file a lawsuit against Amerado. The fact that Amerado has a big fan base has made it difficult for me to use his sound.”
Amerado owes SK DA SUPERMAN money, and he stated that he is ready to meet him, although all efforts to get in touch with him have been ineffective.
“Amerado is making a lot of money off of my intellectual property and did not ask for my permission,” he bemoaned. “Amerado also now has a remix.”
He stated that the Ghanaian music industry’s stakeholders ought to start taking these problems seriously and enacting strict measures to put an end to them.
