Reports from Denkyira Fobinso, a community in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region indicate that a 22-year old man has been lynched to death.[ads2]
The deceased, Evan Wireko is said to have been lynched to death at Denkyira Fobinso for an alleged involvement in a robbery incident at a galamsey site in the community.
Wireko is said to have completed Adisadel College in the Central Region in 2021 and was waiting to gain admission to the University this year.[ads3]
The deceased, according to Citi News, visited the Denkyira Fobinso community to engage in galamsey activities and was later accused of attacking a member of the community which led to his arrest.
It is said the deceased was dragged before the chief of the community by some members of Fobinso community but after denying any wrongdoing, the chief of Fobinso allegedly ordered for him to be dealt with causing angry residents to stone Wireko to death at the centre of the town.
