Dobile, in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region, have been handed a new 12-Unit sanitary facility by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to help address the challenges of open defecation.
According to Madam Lubaabat Habib-Jawulaaa, Ag. Head of the Environment & Social Amenities Unit at GNPC, the facility, which comes with a mechanized water system, is expected to also serve the Dobile new market and to combat sanitation-related health problems.
Mr. Yusif Yakubu, the Wa Municipal Planning Officer, thanked GNPC for the intervention saying it would boost efforts to improve on hygiene conditions of the people in furtherance of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
