The US city of Boston has officially declared March 2nd to be “Burna Boy Day” in recognition and celebration of the Nigerian musician’s contributions.
The Boston City Council made this announcement in a formal statement that was signed by Councilwoman Ruthzee Louijeune.
It emphasized Boston’s dedication to honoring cultural diversity via a range of occasions, celebrations, and neighborhood projects, citing Burna Boy’s contributions as representative of this dedication.
“Boston’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating culture and diversity is evident in the range of cultural events, festivals, and community initiatives that showcase the city’s multicultural landscape; and Burna Boy’s legacy serves as a reminder of possibility, reminding us to continue amplifying voices that have long been silenced or overlooked; Now, therefore, be it.
“Burna Boy Day in the City of Boston is designated for March 2, 2024,” the statement said.
Steve Harvey also suggested the hitmaker of “Killing Them,” despite some Americans accusing him of ripping off their musical taste.
