Valencia defender Gabriel Paulista insists he enjoyed the banter he had with Luis Suarez during last night’s Copa del Rey tie.
Barcelona won the first-leg of their semifinal 1-0, with Suarez grabbing a second-half winner.
The Uruguay international enjoyed a combative tussle with Gabriel throughout the game and the Los Che defender laughed afterwards: “They are things from inside the field, he told me that I was a cagón, and I told him that he was a good player, that he was the best ‘9’ in the world , but that stays inside.
“So we forget it and that’s all.”
Gabriel also remarked: “We have fought to the death as Marcelino wants, it is a first battle and we had to give up blood for this team, now we think about the next match.”
Andreas Pereira was forced off after a high challenge from Barca midfielder Sergi Roberto and Gabriel added: “My teammates say that Sergi Roberto’s tackle on Pereira was red, we are in the Camp Nou and we have to fight against Barça and against referees.”
