Renowned Actor Van Vicker, has responded to claims that he declined a part in the film “A Country Called Ghana” at the casting stage.
Van Vicker explained the reasons for his absence from the movie in a recent interview on Hello FM.
Van Vicker claims that Frank Gharbin, the film’s director, contacted him and showed interest in having him appear in the movie. A 30-day shoot was suggested by Frank Gharbin during the negotiating phase.
Van Vicker proposed a 10-day shoot in place of the longer duration, explaining that he will be unable to commit to his academic obligations.
He added that he was shocked to learn in the media that he had declined the job and that, following this conversation, he had not received a response from the director.
“I said one month is too much What are we filming? You should know that with actors, the more days you require, the more fees I will charge so the earlier you finish the better. So you need me for one month; are you sure you can pay me for one full month? So I told him for one month I can’t do the work because I’m in school”. Van Vicker explained
Van Vicker’s original role in the film “A Country Called Ghana” was subsequently filled by Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah.
The film, which is presently having its premiere, has already won multiple accolades
Rather than indicating a lack of motivation to work with others on the project, Van Vicker’s explanation clarifies the difficulties in the negotiations that kept him from participating.
The primary part of a British colonial master was intended for Van Vicker; this is the same role that Nigerian actor Ramsey Noah ultimately took on.
