A heavy rainstorm has ripped off roof of the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Education Office and the Asankragwa Senior High School on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
According multiple reports, the rainstorm lasted close to three hours, rendering over 150 residence homeless and lost of thousands of properties.
Communities like Patakro, Woman no Good, Odumasi, Breman, Asuoshiam and Amoaku all in the Amenfi West Municipality were heavily affected.

Not only the Asankragua Senior High School and the Amenfi West Educational Office had their roof ripped off but new school buildings in Woman No Good and Patakro.
Power supply in the community has become a quandary has tress that were knocked down by the rainstorm fell on some high-tension cables supplying power to large portions of the municipality.
It also being reported that two children were severally injured at Amoaku due to the rainstorm are now responding to treatment at the Samartex Hospital.

A seven-year old who is also a resident of Kwabin in the same Municipality during the rainstorm was caught by a wooden bar on his leg and is expected to undergo surgery at the St Thomas Catholic Hospital as the leg has been broken.
The Municipal Chief Executive George Agyiri and the Municipal NADMO Director, John Osway have since been touring the municipality to assess the level of destruction and also commiserate with the victims.
Some of the affected persons have reportedly relocated to one of the schools in the municipality while the assembly works to provide them with relief items.
