Asamoah Gyan is considered as one of the best goal poachers to emerge from Africa that have graced the FIFA World Cup.
Since making his World Cup debut in 2006 for the Black Stars against Czech Republic, the former Sunderland attacker has passed through the ranks and file to become the top African footballer with most goals in the tournament.

Gyan who made his World Cup debut at the age of 18 during the 2006 World Cup in Germany has scored six solid goals in the competition.

He scored his first ever World Cup goal against Czech Republic which is among the fastest goals in the World Cup since its inception.
The 33-year old scored the goal after 68 seconds and that was Ghana’s first ever World Cup goal.
Since then, he has scored against Australia, Serbia, USA, Germany and Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal.

Gyan is the only Ghanaian player to score that highest number of goals in the mundial, making him one of the greatest goal poachers the country has ever produced.
He is currently Ghana’s leading all-time topscorer with 51 goals.
