At least twenty-one (21) persons have been arrested by the police in the Volta Region for the abduction of three police officers.
The twenty-one have been arrested to assist investigations into the case and also for blocking entry points into the region.

According to the Volta Regional Minister and Chairman of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, security situation has been restored in the region with all roads cleared for movement while the Sogakope Divisional Police Commander, Mr. Dennis Fiakpui who was among the abducted police officers rescued and currently undergoing treatment.

Dr. Yao Letsa cintunued that all unauthorised barriers and blockades erected by the Group at Sogakope, Tefle and Juapong had been cleared.
He added that, “the security is on top of the situation and assured the people of the region to go about their normal duties devoid of fear or intimidation.”
