The Volta Regional Sports Authority has secured a sponsorship deal from a Ho-based philanthropist and Chief Executive Officer of From Home Company Limited, Mr Joe Ayivor, to enhance efficiency in its work.
The deal, worth thousands of cedis, was struck by the Regional Sports Director, Mr Kwame Amponfi Jnr, as part of his aggressive sponsorship initiatives and will see Mr Ayivor providing the regional directorate with office equipment from time to time, as well as seeing to the maintenance of the official vehicle for the Authority.
Mr Ayivor, while presenting the first set of office equipment, made up of Computer and Multi-Purpose Print, Scan and Copy Machine at his office in Ho, last Thursday, said: “I feel obliged as a responsible citizen of the region to continue to identify myself with the present rejuvenated, transparent and progressive sports administration of the Volta Regional Sports Authority. It is my hope that in the very near future, we should have at least one football team qualify from the region to play in the Premier League of Ghana”.
The businessman expressed his delight in the recent recognition of the hard work of Mr Amponfi Jnr by some eminent chiefs and elders of the Volta Region, and called on other well-meaning individuals, philanthropists and companies to contribute their quota towards the rapid development and promotion of sports throughout the region.
Mr Ayivor encouraged the Volta Regional Sports Director and his team to keep up the good work, adding that hard work pays.
On behalf of his Director-General, management and staff of the Authority, Mr Amponfi Jnr thanked Mr Ayivor for his quick response to the request for support by the Authority and assured him that the donated equipment would be put to good use, and the car when maintained, would be managed well, to justify the investment made.
The office equipment has since been installed to facilitate effective and efficient sports administration of the Authority.
Meanwhile, processes for the sponsored second phase maintenance of the official vehicle of the Authority has duly commenced and when completed, would be the second time Mr Ayivor has offered to maintain for free the old duty-post vehicle of the Directorate. The first phase maintenance was done in 2016.
