It has been a herculean task and a huge challenge for students of the Sekondi School for the Deaf when it comes to access to portable water.[ads2]
Students at the school trek many kilometers to search for portable water, exposing them to several dangers. The perennial water challenge at the school has been a gargantuan burden on the management of the school who have been trying everything within their powers to come to a solution.
But there was a sign of relief on Friday, December 2, 2022 as leadership of Daily Manna Foundation handed over a new mechanized borehole to the school with a 10,000 litre polytank.
There was an exciting atmosphere at the school when the borehole was officially opened for use by the students.[ads3]
Speaking at a brief ceremony held at the premises of the school located in Inchaban in the Western Region, the Chief Executive Officer of Daily Manna Foundation, Mr Michael Quarshie said the mechanized borehole is to solve the water challenges at the school.
He said the decision to construct the mechanised borehole was in response to a request by the management of the school. The astute businessman used the opportunity to plead with the management of the school to endeavor to maintain the project in order to serve its purpose of curbing acute water shortage at the school.

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Favour Aflakpai was all excited with the gesture from Daily Manna Foundation. She was grateful to the leadership of the Foundation for the construction of the mechanised borehole despite their late request.[ads4]
Ending her speech, Mrs Aflakpai pleaded with organisations and philanthropists in the Western region and beyond to come to their aid.
