The Head of Media and Public Relations of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Moses Antwi-Benefo has outlined the progress of five Astro-Turf projects being funded by the social responsibility umbrella.
The corporate social responsibility umbrella of GNPC has since its establishment being supporting communities with edifices to improve the standard of living.

Among other projects, the GNPC Foundation is currently funding five Astro-Turf projects in the western region according to the Media and Public Relations Head, Moses Antwi-Benefo in an interview with Oti-Asirifi Mensah Joseph of Skyy Media Group.

Heman-Prestea, Dompim-Pepesa, Anyinase, Adiembra and Efia-Kuma are the five facilities currently being worked on by the Foundation.
“Currently, GNPC is funding the construction of five Astro Turfs in the Western Region ie Heman-Prestea, Dompim-Pepesa, Anyinase, Adiembra and Efiekuma.

“GNPC Board of Trustees has completed the needs assessment and approved for the commencement of work at Heman-Prestea.
“Work on the Adiembra Astro-Turf has began, but it’s at the primary stage, and we are closely monitoring the progress. We have completed the entire work at Dompim-Pepesa Astro Turf waiting for commissioning and handover.

“Tarkwa-Ayinase Astro-Turf is about 80% complete, with some few finishing touches to be done so that we can it hand over to the Community.
“Efie-kuma Astro Turf is done, but there are few outstanding anomalies to be rectified in three weeks” – Antwi-Benefo on Skyy Power FM.
