The Black Stars ‘B’ of Ghana have landed a semifinal berth in the ongoing WAFU Championship in Senegal after beating Burkina Faso in the penalty shootouts.
The game ended 1-1 in regulation time but Ghana managed to defeat the Burkinabes 5-4 in the shoot-outs to book a place in the semifinals of the competition.

IIina Teindrebeogo had the opener for the Burkinabes as early as the 3rd minute of the match.
Ghana quickly regrouped and started piling pressure on Burkina Faso for the equalizer, which saw the likes of Joseph Esso and Shafiu Mumuni missing great chances.
Skipper Shafiu Mumuni finally stood up to snatch the parity for Ghana in the 37th minute with an assist from Hearts of Oak forward Joseph Esso to end the first half.
Both sides returned from the recess to a spectacular showdown as the second half became a balanced game but Ghana were the better side.
The game ended 1-1 and the two teams had to be separated via shoot-outs.
Goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi became the hero for Ghana as he made two crucial saves in the shootouts to ensure that Ghana progress to the semifinals with a 5-4 victory.
