Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stormed the Electoral Commission of Ghana headquarters on Thursday morning to protest against the result of the just ended elections.
The NDC and their flagbearer John Dramani Mahama have rejected the results of the 2020 December polls since the announced by the Electoral Commission.[ads2]
John Dramani Mahama pulled 6,213,182 votes losing the contest to the sitting President, Nana Akufo-Addo who amassed 6,730,587 votes representing 51.3%.
But the NDC believe they have been cheated by the Electoral Commission and have threatened to use every legitimate means to challenge the results.[ads3]
As a sign of showing their dissatisfaction with the results, the supporters of the leading opposition party stormed the Electoral Commission office in Accra to protest but the arrival of the police calmed things down.[ads4]
