Ghanaian versatile defender Abdul Mumin, who plays for La Liga side Rayo Vallecano has secured his first-ever call-up to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Mumin’s outstanding play in the Spanish top tier, where he has already made four appearances and scored a vital goal, is unequivocally the reason for his inclusion in coach Chris Hughton’s latest squad.
Mumin has had an incredible rise to prominence on the global scene. After passing through the ranks of the esteemed Right to Dream program, he signed a transfer worth an incredible 1,500,000 million euros on September 1, 2022, to join Rayo Vallecano following a fruitful season with Portuguese team Vitoria Guimarães.
He also played for Danish side Nordsjælland after signing a professional contract with them in August 2016.
As Ghana prepares for the World Cup and faces opponents in Madagascar and Comoros, supporters are already looking forward to seeing Mumin’s impact.
