Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder, Umar Bashiru has confessed that the team had a bad day against Zesco United which resulted to their painful defeat last Sunday.
The Porcupines were whipped 2:1 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola last Sunday courtesy goals from Jese Were and Mtonga.
The defeat ensured that, Asante Kotoko bow out of the CAF Confederation Cup even though the team were determined to secure a quarter-final berth.
Umar Bashiru who was in a pale shadow of himself during the encounter believes the entire team had a bad day but they will surely recover and bounce back stronger.
” Unacceptable result and poor performance from the entire team but Allah knows best”, he wrote on his Facebook timeline.
The team arrived at the Kotoka International Airport earlier this afternoon with Ethiopian Airline and have journey to Kumasi to begin preparation for the yet to be announced league season in the country.
