The motion was moved by Dreams FC’s administrative manager, Ameenu Shardow, for the Obuasi-based club to be suspended during the 29th congress session of the Ghana FA at KNUST Great Hall.
After a headcount, 67 voted in favor of suspension, while 17 voted against the motion.
Explaining the state of the club, the Ghana FA scribe asserted Ashantigold have not been expelled from Ghana football as purported to be.
“The decision maintains the status code, and there has not been anything significant added to Ashantigold. Per our laws, if you want to preserve it, the next congress has to take it there. Congress will maintain it because the ultimate power for suspension or expulsion of a member lies with congress.”
