Kwadwo Amoako has lashed out how Techiman Eleven Wonders played huge part in Ashantigold SC qualifying for the semifinal of the Normalization Committee’s Special Cup.
Techiman Eleven Wonders were mauled 3-0 by Ashantigold SC to secure qualification ahead of Medeama SC in the rearranged game after yesterday’s game was called off due to a heavy downpour.
With the victory, Ashantigold will leapfrog both Medeama and Asante Kotoko to the summit of the table with 23 points. Asante Kotoko with a better head to head against Medeama will snatch the second position.
Right back Kwadwo Amoako after the game told reporters that since Ashantigold SC needed a win to secure qualification, Techiman Eleven Wonders helped to push the Miners up.
Ashantigold scored two more goals on Friday after taken a 1-0 lead in the rained off fixture on Thursday.
During the game, Kwadwo Amoako gave away a very sloppy and needless penalty.
Rumours were already going round in the media that Eleven Wonders will allow a beating to ensure the Miners sail through and after the game, Kwadwo Amoako’s comment seems to have affirmed that.
“It’s football and it’s imperative we push the one (Ashantigold) climbing the ladder. So we helped push them on the ladder,” he said after the match.
“We are done and dusted and we must look forward to subsequent games” – Amoako told reporters after the game.
