The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak has strongly reacted to recent accusations made by Dutch coach Martin Koopman, stating that they gave him complete control over player selection.
Following a run of poor performances, Koopman left the Phobians, and this reaction comes after the Dutchman claimed that the board had placed limitations on specific players.
The board said during a press conference today, December 4, 2023, that Martin Koopman was granted complete power over player selection and that he used 28 players.
“Koopman was solely in charge of player selection in the team. He was given full responsibility.We want to put on record that by the time we played our seventh league match, Koopman had used 28 players except two who were on the injury list,”the Board reiterated.
Hearts Of Oak have been inconsistent with results this season and their bad form sees them placed 9th on the Ghana Premier League table with season points out of a possible 39 after 13 games.
Hearts Of Oak’s next game will be against Kotoko on Sunday December 3.
