Richmond Lamptey, the deputy captain of Asante Kotoko, claims that his team is playing the remaining games in the Ghana Premier League with the utmost seriousness.
After overcoming a challenging start to the season, the Porcupine Warriors are currently ranked seventh in the domestic premier division. Last Sunday, they defeated vengeful rivals Accra Hearts of Oak 3-2 to extend their comeback and winning run.
Kotoko have now extended their Ghana Premier League winning streak to four games after triumphing over Hearts of Oak.
Prior to their next games against Great Olympics Richmond Lamptey says his team won’t be complacent after defeating arch rivals Accra Hearts Of Oak.
“We can’t be complacent after beating Hearts of Oak. I will urge my teammates to work extra hard in order for us to beat Great Olympics on Sunday”he stated.
Richmond Lamptey went on to post on his Facebook page “We did this for the fans , we thank you for your patience, this is just the beginning of something. We are Asante Kotoko”
After 14 games, the Porcupine Warriors have 22 points, on seventh place in the Ghana Premier League league standings.
Assistant Coach of Kotoko David Ocloo has also reiterated that the win against Hearts Of Oak will boost their chances of challenging for the Ghana Premier League trophy.
