The 2020 edition of the Western Music Awards has been suspended until further notice.

According to the organizers of the award scheme, Westline Entertainment the decision has been taken due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.
A statement from the Communication department of the awards scheme reads,”Westline Entertainment, organizers of the Prestigious Western Music Awards have suspended the 2020 edition of Western Music Awards until further notice due to Coronavirus concerns.
“We will continue to engage with stakeholders on the next step(s) and inform all potential nominees accordingly of any changes.

“The Board and Management with great respect for the directive from H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo–Addo to ban all public gatherings and also to stop the spread of the the Coronavirus have taken this decision.
“However, all submitted nominations have been duly received and work on sieving them will commerce as soon as the green light is given.
