Mayoung forces school in Takoradi represented the Western Region in the national Under 13 Milo competition in Kumasi.
Western region played their first match and won two nil (2:0) over Ashanti Region, Western region lifted their game in the second match and beat Upper East region by five goals to nil (5:0). Western region were leading Northern by 1:0,a stunning second goal was scored and the referee disallowed it which demoralised the boys and eventually Northern won by 2:1
A regulation time win for western region against Eastern region would have seen them in the final but the team drew on regulation time and won on penalties. Since there was no semi final play,team western region placed third as they beat Greater Accra 3:0 .
Medals were given to the contingent and 3,000 Ghana cedis for placing third . The leader of delegation Mr Victor Farmeh who is the Metro Physical Education coordinator says he was very happy with the performance the team put up although they didn’t win the ultimate but knows the team have a great future.
