The Western Regional House of Chiefs have showered praises on GNPC for their poverty alleviating policies.
This comes when the officials of GNPC led by it’s Board Chairman Freddy Blay, as part of activities to make the ordinary Ghanaian feel the impact of the oil being drilled, met the house on Wednesday to explain the reason behind the developmental projects being fully sponsored by the Corporation.
In the meeting, Nana Ogyeahoho Gyebi who is the President of the House of Chiefs, showered praises on the corporation and it’s social investment arm GNPC Foundation for the uncountable developmental projects and the poverty alleviating policies they’ve embarked so far in the Western Region.

With the aim and the agenda of impacting the lives of Ghanaians particularly the people of the Western Region, the GNPC and its Foundation have embarked on numerous developmental projects in the area of education, health, sports among others.
Such of these projects include; building of six unit classroom block for the Daboase SHS, 24-seater sanitary facility for Bompeh SHTS, giving scholarships to intelligent but needy students, supporting 400 artisans to acquire NVTI certificate among other educational projects.
The GNPC Foundation has also conducted free eye screening exercise for about 3000 patients, supporting the Hima Dekyi Hospital, donating fire extinguishers to market women in a fire awareness campaign etc.

In the area of sports, the Foundation has constructed an ultra-modern artificial pitch at the Effiakuma Police Park which reportedly cost $250,000, headlined the Western Region inter-district athletics competition held at the Sekondi Sports Stadium among others.
With all these, Nana Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi was enthused by the decision of GNPC to ensure that citizens enjoy the benefits accruing from the oil production and urged them to do more.
