Ghanaian international Yaw Yeboah put up an amazing performance to propel Columbus Crew to Major League Soccer Cup victory.
On Saturday, the former captain of the Black Meteors led his team to victory over Los Angeles FC with a superb effort. Yaw Yeboah scored the team’s winning goal as they beat Los Angeles FC in a 2-1 scoreline.
Yeboah started the match which took place at Lower.com Field and played for 83 minutes to help his team lift their third Major League Soccer trophy after emerging victors in 2008 and 2020.
The attacker from Ghana gave his team the lead in the 37th minute, capping an outstanding display.Before his goal, Cucho Hernández had given Columbus Crew the a 1-0 after 33 minutes. After 74 minutes into the game, Dénis Bouanga of LAFC cut the deficit but the goal advantage on the part of Columbus Crew was enough to help them clinch the trophy in style.
Yeboah becomes the fourth player from Ghana to lift the MLS trophy while since the 2020 when the team was led by Emmanuel Boateng, Jonathan Mensah, and Harrison Afful.
Yaw Yeboah has found his form at Columbus Crew over the past year and has been a difference maker for Colombus Crew. Playing out wide has unequivocally made him a key cog in Columbus’ attack.
His winning goal, which won the MLS Cup Final is the icing on the cake for what has been a perfect year.
