The Youth Employment Agency and the Ghana Football Association have concluded all formalities to roll out the government support for the 480 registered footballers.
The Government in its weekly update on the policies and decisions made in the coronavirus pandemic on Monday, confirmed a GHS 1.5m support for women’s footballers.

Ghana Football Association on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 met with leadership of the Youth Employment Agency to put to paper all expected formalities to ensure the plan is rolled out.
The amount is to cater for all 480 registered female footballers in the Women’s Premier League; an amount of GHS 500.00 monthly allowance will be paid to all female footballers in the next 6 months starting month of July as enshrined in the reports by GFA and Gov’t.

Ghana Football Association after several consultations with the government called the 2019/2020 Season null and void due to the coronavirus despite the women’s premier league already halfway through.
The 16 elite women’s football clubs will be unburdened by this first of its kind gesture from the government.
