The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah on behalf of his Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the government and the good people of Ghana has sent a goodwill message to the national U-17 football Team, the Black Maidens ahead of their U-17 Women World Cup Qualifiers first leg game against Liberia at the Antoinete Tubman Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday, March 1st, 2020.

In his message to the team, the Hon. Minister says he is very confident the team can weather the storm and carry the day but must not be complacent.
“The team should prepare their minds psychologically and renew their spirit of conviction.They should not rest on their oars but work hard towards victory.
The game of football is now more of brain power and tactical discipline which I believe our boys have.

There is nothing they cannot achieve with the right focus and the can-do spirit “he said.
He advised the players to abide strictly by the rules of the game and to also take instructions of their seriously.

He took the opportunity to urge the coach, the technical and management team of the Black maidens to ensure that the playing body is well-conditioned and prepared physically,mentally and psychologically ahead of the competition.

Finally, the Hon minister pleads with all Ghanaian’s to rally solidly behind the Maidens as the team embark on yet another journey to raise the high flag of Ghana.
