Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has told club powerbrokers he is willing to stay and make squad changes for next season.
A heavy criticism leveled at Zidane has been his blind loyalty shown to the players this term, despite their poor campaign.
Diario Gol says Zidane has come around and accepted the blame after talks with directors Jose Angel Sanchez and Emilio Butragueno. And in order to rescue the situation, Zidane has agreed to oversee a clearout.
The Frenchman has already submitted five names he believes can be moved on this summer. Defensive pair Jesus Vallejo and Achram Hakimi, midfielders Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente, plus striker Borja Mayoral have all had lines put through their names by Zidane.
However, while welcoming Zidane’s input, it has been pointed out by Sanchez and Butragueno that the coach is still showing an unwillingness to put forward any senior players for sale, despite the first team’s dismal form.
